Luke has always been passionate about creating and running businesses from an early age. His post-graduation years took him down the path of entrepreneurship, including starting and running Grana.com, a global e-commerce brand and ChargePoint, a leading electric vehicle charging operator in Australia and New Zealand.
Upon noticing the declining health of family members, Luke started looking into the state of Australian healthcare. He was shocked to discover the prevalence of chronic illnesses in the Australian population and the tiny percentage of healthcare spend (1.34%!) on preventing illnesses in the first place. This inspired the start of Andi, a solution with the mission to make proactive health the norm around the world.
As a kid, Akshin used to love building Lego sets, which is probably what got him into engineering in the first place. As he grew up, he got more interested in the software side of things and even programmed a text-based dungeon crawling game in high school. During his studies at university, he participated in a program to help develop a social enterprise in Malawi, Africa, which opened his eyes to how startups worked. Ever since then, he has been working for med-tech startups in various roles.
At Andi, Akshin enjoys working on technical challenges that haven’t been attempted before, and developing our IP from scratch! He also enjoys learning about different areas of health from various partnered experts and understanding what that goes into developing the product.
Growing up, Dave always enjoyed tinkering in the workshop on projects and bringing them to life (the ultimate reward!). Though only getting there after much problem solving, this ability to weather the ups and downs that come with launching projects of passion put him in good stead for his inadvertent career in start-ups, which began in London many moons ago. These are projects that evoked passion because they offered creative freedoms seldom offered in larger organisations.
Finding Andi not only means can he enjoy such freedoms, but also means he is working on a product with a mission close to his heart (given his family’s history with heart disease) – a mission to improve people’s quality of life through technology and design.
Growing up, Gloria has always been passionate about art and design, and her interest in creativity eventually took her along the path of studying and working in the fashion industry on design and sustainability initiatives. Through working on sustainability strategy in fashion, she realised her work can have positive impacts on pressing issues in the world, and that became something she always tried to look for in future roles.
Her pivot into designing digital products came about from a desire to involve more logical and human-centred processes into her design. Andi fitted the bill! She is glad to be able to use her skills in design to help create digital and service experiences that could help people live healthier lives and prevent chronic conditions.
